GIROLLE CHEESE CURLER
Just in time for spring, I’ve brought back this ingenious cheese curler that creates beautiful cheese carnations to elevate any platter or cheese-garnished dish. I’ve been using this Girolle Cheese Curler ever since I developed my signature haddock and Tête de Moine dish at JAN, but since then, I’ve used it to decorate the platters in my cheese rooms, both in France and South Africa, and sometimes, even just after a long service at home, when chilling out with a glass of wine. There are other ways to slice cheese, but ask yourself, why would you want to?
The perfect cheese to use with this curler is Tête de Moine and we get ours from Wild Peacock (www.wildpeacock.co.za) and La Cotte Inn (www.lacotte.co.za). If you can’t get your hands on Tête de Moine, you can also make beautiful carnations with Huguenot cheese.
