The JAN Toile Collection is here! I’ve had an obsession with toile since childhood. Mesmerised by their beautifully depicted scenes, I was transported to the lives of others every time, lying on my back and observing the detailed drawings of simple lives that seemed so far away yet so familiar. My first rendezvous was when I lived in the small village of Avize in Champagne, where I stayed and renovated an old chateaux. With this collection, done in collaboration with Hertex HAUS, I wanted to tell my story through a series of images that capture something of my dual life – of the farmboy living in France – through a medium I’ve adored for as long as I can remember.
