JAN Voyage: Italy lands on Primedia+
Italy has always held a kind of magic for me, a place where food, people, and landscape come together in a way that feels almost dreamlike. With JAN Voyage: Italy, my new six-part series and the very first original production to launch on Primedia+, produced in partnership with Brainwave Productions and Lavish’d, I finally get to share that magic with you in the way I’ve always experienced it: up close, unfiltered, and straight from the heart.
The first three episodes arrive on Friday, 21 November, and the rest follow a week later on November 28th.
From the beginning, I wanted this series to be more than just a showcase of beautiful food. Italy deserves more than that,and so do you. I wanted to wander its backroads, meet the artisans who keep its culinary traditions alive, and capture the simple, soulful moments that happen whenever people cook and eat together. That’s where the true beauty lies.
And of course, I wasn’t travelling alone. My beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel Elizabeth came with me on every step of the journey. She may be tiny, but she has a way of breaking the ice with every person we meet, her presence softened moments, opened doors, and reminded me constantly that adventure is so much sweeter with a companion by your side.
We avoided the tourist traps and headed straight for the lesser-known treasures: the butcher who still wraps his cuts proudly in brown paper; the corner shopkeeper who knows every face and story in the village; the families stirring pots of sauce using recipes passed down longer than anyone can remember. With every encounter, I was reminded that food is never just what ends up on your plate. It’s the hands, the hearts, and the histories that bring it to life.
This series is, in many ways, a love letter to Italy, and also the heartbeat behind my new cookbook, JAN Voyage. It’s a celebration of simplicity, of inspiration, of the beauty found in every shared meal and the timeless joy of the table.
I hope you’ll join Elizabeth and I as we travel through this extraordinary country. I hope it inspires you, moves you, and maybe even changes the way you think about the stories behind your own meals.
