Launching the JAN Foundation
At JAN, we’ve always believed that life’s greatest beauty is found in connection, in sharing a meal, a story, or a moment that reminds us of our shared humanity. From the way we craft our wines to the way we approach food and hospitality, everything we do is guided by the belief that care and generosity should extend beyond the table. This is the spirit that gave life to the JAN Foundation, a way to transform kindness into meaningful action.
The JAN Foundation was created to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who are often overlooked, particularly the elderly within our communities. It began with a simple idea: that compassion should be active, not passive. Through partnerships with humanitarian organisations, fundraising initiatives, and a commitment to transparency, the Foundation aims to bring dignity, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.
Our mission is clear — to support organisations that care for vulnerable older individuals, fostering collaboration and inspiring others to join us in creating real, lasting change. Every initiative we undertake is rooted in the values that have always defined JAN: authenticity, integrity, and a deep respect for people and their stories.
The Foundation’s first project, in partnership with SAVF Evanna Old Age Home, reflects exactly this. Many of the residents at Evanna were recently relocated from an uninhabitable facility, arriving with little more than courage and resilience. Through the generosity of our community, we raised R95,000 to help improve their quality of life — providing essential care and restoring a sense of dignity to their everyday experience. What began as a fundraising drive quickly became something greater: a shared act of compassion that reminded us all of the power of human connection.
This project is just the beginning. The JAN Foundation is not a one-time initiative, but a long-term commitment to service. Every contribution — whether a donation, a volunteer effort, or simply spreading the word — helps us grow this vision of a kinder, more caring world. Like every plate we create or bottle we craft, it’s about more than what we make; it’s about what we give.
