Combine 25 ml ClemenGold Gin, 25 ml Caperitif Dry Vermouth and 25ml Cointreau in a tumbler of your choice, fill with ice and stir to chill.
Once your glass is nice and chilled, top with more ice, add a ClemenGold wheel slice and a small bunch of samphire.
A Negroni is an Italian aperitif cocktail that is just perfect for one of those warm and leisurely summer evenings before dinner. The ‘unusual’ part refers to the fact that this Negroni is quite light on the palate (the original calls for Campari, which was substituted with the bright, orangey notes of Cointreau in this case). Working with ClemenGold Gin – and fresh ClemenGolds, when in season – also adds a lekker local flavour to this rejuvenating cocktail. The salt spray taste of the samphire for the garnish will make you feel like you’re vacationing somewhere on a beach resort like Umngazi even if you’re staycationing in Kuruman.
