THE GOLDEN GOOSE
For a tempting chocolate gin on the rocks, grab a handful of gooseberries and muddle to a pulp.
Pour 50 ml of Jackrabbit Chocolate Gin into your tumbler of choice, add the gooseberry pulp and some crushed ice, and top with a sugar basket and a few whole gooseberries, resulting in a chocolate tart explosion!
Some gins simply beg to be mixed while others are quite content on their own, chilling on the rocks. The more fragrant gins that foreground a particular flavour like citrus, rooibos or blueberry usually lend themselves well to being enjoyed neat – and are often referred to as “sipping” gins. But simple needn’t be boring! When working with a chocolate gin, it’s hard to resist a bit of chocolatiering. The tart bitterness of the gooseberries contrast the crunchy sweetness of the spun sugar crown beautifully in this cocktail, while the cocoa notes bring back some sweet memories of those liqueur chocolates your mother used to hide on the upper pantry shelf.
