James Dixon & Son’s Bread Knife
The more time you spend in a brocante and allow yourself to be swept away by the layers of history, the more inspired you become. A simple vintage plate could bring you to invent a new dish, an urn could become a centrepiece in your living room (with just a simple arrangement of flowers) and a fluted vase could make decanter that turns pouring your guests a glass of wine into an event. This is a collection of finds from my many visits to some of the best antique shops in the sister cities of Nice and Cape Town.
