A NIGHT TO REMEMBER WITH FORAGE AND FEAST

Monday, 2 December, marked a special occasion at JAN Franschhoek as we unveiled the limited edition festive range from Forage and Feast. The breathtaking backdrop of a starry sky and a gentle breeze created the perfect ambiance for a memorable evening filled with deliciousness and camaraderie.

As guests arrived at the picturesque Veepos cottage, they were welcomed with warm smiles and the enticing aromas of exquisite dishes wafting from our kitchen. The atmosphere brimmed with joy, laughter, and the warmth of friends coming together to celebrate.

Each guest received a copy of JAN The Journal volume 14, hot off the printing press, adding an extra touch of excitement to the evening.

Our culinary journey began with a selection of starters, and a highlight was undoubtedly the sliced traditional beef tongue, perfectly complemented by a sweet and tangy mustard sauce. A tantalizing bite that set the stage for the feast to come.

 

Beautiful whole deboned chicken, lovingly stuffed with festive cranberry and sage, enveloped in smoky streaky bacon, paired with pumpkin spiced doughnuts drizzled with golden brandy caramel, were just a few of the delights that epitomized the essence of the season.

We concluded the evening with a curated selection of cheeses (including some French cheeses hand-selected by Jan Hendrik) elevated by a delightful array of toppers, including cranberry glaze infused with hints of brandy and spices, striking a perfect balance of flavours with an exquisite croquembouche of Forage and Feast dessert profiteroles, providing a fitting grand finale to an extraordinary culinary journey.
